These are step-by-step instructions for manually editing nodes within Insights. While Orthogramic automates much of the business architecture process, there are scenarios where direct, manual adjustments are necessary—such as refining organisational structures, correcting data inaccuracies, or tailoring domain-specific elements.
The following sections outline how to copy, add, edit, archive, un-archive, and delete nodes, ensuring that your organisational model remains accurate and aligned with your strategic objectives.
Select the Domain from the orgNode
Double click any node
Choose Copy from the Node Menu
Select the node’s domain from the list displayed.
When you have selected the Organization node to copy into, click Copy node.
The node will be copied into the selected organization unit.
Select the Domain from the orgNode
Double click an Organization Unit node
Choose Add from the Node Menu
Double click a data field to add content.
You can only add nodes of the domain you are currently viewing.
Each domain has required fields, for example Title.
Saving changes
Select Save at the top of the Info Panel
The new node will be displayed in the mindmap
Select a node
Double click a field - The field border will change to Yellow as shown below
Make your changes - They will be saved automatically
Select the Domain from the orgNode
Double click a node
Choose Archive from the Node Menu
You will be asked to confirm your choice
Choose More from the Node Menu
Choose Un-Archive
A list of archived nodes will be displayed
Select the node to Un-Archive
The details of the selected node will be displayed
Click Un-archive to restore the node.
Select the Domain from the orgNode
Double click a node
Choose Delete from the Node Menu
You will be asked to confirm your choice
Deleting an organization unit will also delete all of its child nodes |
